Mathematics Instructor. I have spent my entire professional career teaching mathematics, both at the secondary and college levels.

My Passion:
In my teaching of mathematics, my goal is to provide students with the math skills they need to work in transforming the world around them. Additionally, my hope is that my students’ eyes will be opened to the greatness of our God, who is the author of all things, including mathematics.

I am strong in my faith in God through Jesus and I am grateful and thankful for the Lord's blessings and favor He pours down on us every day. I share my zest for life and the depth of my faith with my students in the classroom!

My Passion:
I love teaching because one of my strengths is "Developer." After years of practical service in faith-based organizations, I share "real life" applications in the educational environment. As a consultant and mentor, I love the "ah ha" moment in individuals' lives when they begin to understand how concepts connect and apply to their situations.

I serve on the steering committee for the Charlotte Huck Children’s Literature Festival held annually in Redlands, CA.

My Passion:
My joy comes from sharing my love of literature and seeing students connect literacy to their experiences and careers. Books transport us to other worlds and help us understand our own.

My Passion:
I am passionate about public health education. I enjoy the creativity of teaching adult learners in a stimulating virtual educational environment. I am most happy when I can share my passion and watch my students grow mentally and emotionally. With good health we have hope and with hope life is awesome!

My passion for teaching evolves from my life of travels and interactions with many populations. This influenced my commitment to help people of all ages to succeed based in education and faith. General Education Elementary Teacher, Huntington Beach City School District; Adjunct Faculty Professor, Los Angeles Pacific University. My role in my career has been the implementation of California Common Core State Standards across the curriculum with an emphasis on using nonfiction text and children’s literature to meet objectives, to enhance student engagement in learning by maintaining a collaborative and hands-on classroom learning environment, and to design and incorporate learning experiences that hone in on building and applying 21s skills.

My Passion:
What an honor it is considered to walk alongside emerging teachers on their new educational journey! As a lifelong learner myself, I always look forward to engaging in discussions with my students, challenging them to think critically about education and young readers and writers, and hopefully pass on some knowledge from my own personal classroom experience!

Spacecraft Manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory on the Europa Clipper mission. My entire career has been spent in aerospace engineering and engineering management working on projects like the Hubble Space Telescope, Orion Crew Return Vehicle, and the Europa Clipper.

My Passion:
I love helping people learn! With mathematics, I love to share the practical, real-world applications of the math I am teaching. One of my biggest thrills is to see the student comprehend the material being taught.

Jim Downey

Professional Experience:
Vice President for Planning & Institutional Effectiveness, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. As the VP for Planning & Institutional Effectiveness, I provide oversight and guidance for all aspects of the continuous improvement efforts of the seminary including assessment, strategic planning, and accreditation. Additionally, I am active in a variety of capacities both inside and outside of the Seminary in the work of anti-racism including workshops and presentations. I have a broad background in physics, aerospace engineering, systems thinking, organizational theory and culture, change management, strategic planning, higher education administration, and institutional effectiveness.

My Passion:
Higher education is one of the primary enablers for many people. I know this because it has been true for me. My passion then, is to serve in the role of being an enabler for others and, specifically, to share the love I have for science.
