Hobbies:
I enjoy the beach, the outdoors and riding horses. I have a husband, 3 dogs and 4 cats. I have been in the nursing and healthcare field for over 21 years. I have so many memorable moments as a nurse and educator. I have been able to travel across the world doing travel nursing, teaching and helping in ministry. I love each and every day as a Nurse who specializes in advanced care and being a professor. I look forward to helping you achieve your educational goals and dreams.

Spacecraft Manager at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory on the Europa Clipper mission. My entire career has been spent in aerospace engineering and engineering management working on projects like the Hubble Space Telescope, Orion Crew Return Vehicle, and the Europa Clipper.

My Passion:
I love helping people learn! With mathematics, I love to share the practical, real-world applications of the math I am teaching. One of my biggest thrills is to see the student comprehend the material being taught.

My teaching style involves learning through interaction, encourages critical thinking and lively discussion which is of key importance in enhancing the student-clinician’s skills in mastering approaches to theoretical orientations and varied techniques as it pertains to promoting therapeutic skills. The class discussion typically consists of asking students to respond to challenging questions but also experience the knowledge and skills via role playing and discussion. I perceive my teaching role as a facilitator guiding the discussion to a logical and learned conclusion, to enhance insight into information about problem-specific issues and expect the student-clinician to have alternatives to problem solving into understanding and processing each individual client’s problems.

My Passion:
I was introduced to the concept of Adult Degree Completion in 1983 while attending a national Music Educators Conference in Chicago. My fascination with this idea of working with adults who had completed part of their degree and wanted/needed to complete in a program just for working adults led me to change from a Ph.D. program in Music Education at Vanderbilt University to an Ed.D. program in Adult and Continuing Education at Columbia University. My own experience in this special program led to many of my beliefs on how to serve the adult learner.

Choir directing for my church, traveling (Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Chile, Brazil, Ghana, and Kenya), watching and attending Kansas City Chiefs football games, movies with my wife, activities with and for my grandkids.

Most of my career has focused on performance management, employee development, and training in the field of higher education. I have served in a number of management roles in higher education and am particularly interested in global leadership, multicultural competence, and ethical decision-making.

My Passion:
I feel blessed to have the opportunity to support and encourage students in their learning, personal development, and professional development. I am passionate about the focus on faith, life, and learning at LAPU. It is a privilege to engage with students to learn how their story connects with God’s story.
